Men often struggle with mental health and overcoming past trauma
Men’s mental health is an issue that often gets ignored in our society. Men are expected to be tough, to be emotionally resilient, but no one is teaching men how to do that. Our Manlihood ManCast interview with Dr. John Delony gives men practical advice for working on our mindsets, dealing with our past, and building the connections and community we need to grow.

Dr. John Delony talks about trauma in a way men can understand
Delony says that Trauma is not just experiencing a catastrophic event. It can be neglect, not being seen, or experiencing hard things alone. Big or small, trauma is cumulative.
Trauma is stored in our body. It’s not just a story from the past, but it’s the body’s physical reaction in the present to something that happened in the past. We get disconnected from our relationships, our spirits, and our bodies when trauma impacts us.
Trauma causes us to act in ways that are out of our character. It destroys the value of self, and we act in response to everything – which can oftentimes create more trauma.
